How can I remove wax (hair removal wax, not candle wax) from carpet?

anetbt asked:

I have a HUGE puddle of wax on my carpet from my wax pot leaking. Does any one know how to get it out? If I google it, I can only find solutions for removing candle wax, not hair-removal-wax. Thank you in advance for any help!

  1. Wet towel and a hot iron. Make sure it’s a towel you don’t want. Try to use a white or light colored one so that dye won’t fade on to the carpet also. Good Luck.

  2. just make the carpet warm with drier and blot same with tissue

  3. Take a Hot Iron and some thick Brow Packing Paper(Or thick Paper)
Make sure Iron is Hot and Carpet is Fully covered by the paper-Then just Iron out the wax, the paper will absorb it from the carpet!

  4. first you need to remove as much of the hardened wax as you can. A butter or putty knife works (nothing sharp). Scrape up what you can and vacuum. Place a clean cloth, paper bag or paper towel (no newspaper) over the wax. Run a WARM iron over the cloth until the wax melts. A hot hair dryer can also be used. Once the wax is melted, it should stick to the cloth. Lift the cloth and the wax should lift with it.

If the wax is colored, it may stain your carpet. Anytime you apply heat to a stain, it causes the stain to lock into the fibers leaving you with a permanent reminder of your clumsiness. Use a WARM iron only. No newspaper or any kind of paper with words or pictures on it unless you want the image to be transferred to your carpet.

If you’re left with a stain once the wax is removed, you’ll have to contend with that as well. Hopefully, it won’t be difficult to remove. A carpet spot cleaner is your best bet.

  5. try boiling water and soaking up the mess, or chip away at it until theres just the stuff stck to the fibres of your carpet then use boiling water. just pour small amounts at a time to avoid it spreading

  6. With cotton gloves on your hands, try Benzene.
